I put my aquarium in our living room. Nosotros dearest to look at it and spend a lot of time there. One matter I was afraid of was to have a filter when we are watching Telly or talking with quests. The filter is pretty quite and nosotros have no trouble at all with the dorsum footing noise. I am not very mechanically inclined only set up-upwards was very simple and like shooting fish in a barrel. The boosted filter numberless are like shooting fish in a barrel to use. This is a proficient filter that has the versatility to extend it if you require. I would not call information technology a great filter and it is a flake noisy. It'south probably not fair to compare it to a 4 stage filter but if you do information technology's understandably non equally good. The noise is louder than I would like just not as bad as almost filters I have tried. It's not a trouble and later on a while you lot do not find it. I would simply like to meet a blueprint that you can not notice at all. I accept had tanks for 22 years to I take some experience with different filter designs. This one does compare favorably to what I have tried in the past. I use the 20 gallon filter for my 12 gallon tank and it works well keeping the water clean. I use this in my 24 gallon tank. In that location have been no problems so you can rely on it. I keep 8 golden fish that known as a dirty fish and are decent size. actually like this filter. I have ben buying information technology for some time and am never disappointed with information technology's operation. It lives up to it'due south name with how quite it runs and keeps the water nice and make clean (clear). You can add charcoal or other additives to the filter bags easily in case yous demand to address a water consequence. Just open and drib it in - no problem at all. I highly recommend this item.
